|
Willy
is a 10 year old boy who lives on a potato farm with his grandfather. All through the story the grandfather seems
sick and will not eat, get out of bed and poor Willy just does not know what
to do. Eventually Willy learns that
his grandfather owes 10 years worth of taxes which adds up to about 500
dollars. The only way Willy feels that
he can help his grandfather keep the farm is to win the National Dogseld Race
that is usually won by a legendary Indian man named Stone Fox. Willy practice very hard and makes it to
race day where he entails many challenges along the wall and his friend, pet,
and dog Searchlight dies along the trail.
