Summary
|
A
little boy was sad because his father is not home. His mother sends him on a journey to take a
basket of goodies to his grandma. He
has a choice to take the long way to grandma or the short way through the
forest, which his mother warned him to avoid.
The boy takes the short cut and meets a few familiar characters along
the way. Upon his arrival at his
grandma’s house, he finds his dad there taking care of her. He is very excited to find his father.

Usage with students
|
The
book Into The Forest could be used as a basis to construct a poem describing
what the boy might hear on his journey to his grandma’s house.
Comparing
and contrasting his journey with Little Red Riding Hood’s journey could be used
as a “text set” to study genres.
